Hell yeah, it seems I love to write...

New year, new stuff to do and contests to attend :)
I'll be participating in this april's Script Frenzy. You get to write a 100-page script in 30 days.

Good news, I've been chosen to be ML (municipal liaison) in my hometown by the contest leaders, so t'is great honor for me :)

See ya soon
I'll reply to everything a.s.a.p :)

Writing

Sun Nov 2, 2008, 7:33 PM
Hello there everyone.

I'm dropping a note on my projected near-absence from dA during next month (also msn, mail, and phone for those special ones). You see, I'm taking part in a writing contest called NaNoWriMo, which is short for National Novel Writing Month.

To summarize, I have to write a 50,000 word novel, from november 1st to november 30th inclusively. Roughly, that means I'll write a 100-page novel in only four weeks.

See ya in a few weeks, take care of yourselves.
Lots of love,
Ben

About me... (tagged)

Tue Jun 3, 2008, 4:36 PM
I got tagged by :iconblind-dancer:

1. post these rules
2. each person tagged must post 8 random facts about themselves.
3. tags should write a journal of these facts
4. at the end post 8 more bloggers are tagged and named
5. go to their page and leave a comment telling them they're tagged" bla bla bla.

Okay, here we go!
~8 random facts~

1- I'm generally afraid of people with blue eyes, especially women. Why? I just can't find any suitable explanation. I think I would be totally incapable of kissing a blue-eyed girl.

2- I never tried to smoke cigarettes in my entire life. I never was asked to try any drug until very recently. However I have tasted cigar (and liked the taste), and narghile (liked some tastes but really not all)

3- The longest project I had was a movie named Terra Alterni. I worked on that project from 2001 to 2007 until giving up of moral exhaustion (by that time I was the only one left working on the project and it sucked.).

4- My parents have had a farm since 1992 in addition to their city house, and they are moving in in the next few days. It makes me very proud and very happy.

5- If I had the choice to lose either my sight or my hearing, I'd probably choose to lose my sight because I really, really can't stand the sound of an empty house when I'm alone (so I don't even try to imagine how being deaf would feel)

6- I've always been interested in various, and sometimes theoretically opposed, things. Science, Art, Politics, Technical/physical work, History... you name it. That always puzzled my teachers, and pissed off my so-called "career helpers" at school, who thought I was deliberately cheating their tests to lose their time.

7- I like to wear hats, and I wear hats in everyday life. Right now I have a brown one and a black one. My favourite hat is a fez.

8- One of my goals in life is, seriously, to build an entirely water-propelled vehicle, be it a bike, skateboard, motorcycle or even a car. I just hope "they" don't come, steal my plans and silence me for that.

These are my targets (if they wish)

Collecting Art?? What the!

Sat Feb 9, 2008, 12:55 PM
What kind of weird thing is this?

Collect other person's art. I mean... Is it another name for favouriting? Seems not. Why? Because you can now favourite a piece of art, or COLLECT it.

What is collecting, actually?
The hobby of collecting includes seeking, locating, ACQUIRING, organizing, cataloging, displaying, storing, and maintaining whatever items are of interest to the individual collector. (definition from Wikipedia.)

In that sense, if I collect stamps or money, I have to acquire the specimens (either buy, find, be given, etc.)
Acquiring something, in my sense, is TAKING POSSESSION of something.

Then how come we're able to TAKE POSSESSION of other people's art? Does this have to do with the organisation's ambiguous policy on copyright? (yes, copyrights user vs user are respected. But copyrights agreement for organisation vs user (i.e: you) always seemed a little weird)

I'm searching the FAQ right now, a little worried and pissed, but I'm not finding anything related to "collecting" art whatsoever. Seems that option only appeared magically on my account? I'm intrigued.

Can someone enlighten me?
